battle for states

Tamil Nadu votes in the first phase of the Lok Sabha election on April 19, 2024. The state comprises 39 parliamentary constituencies, with 7 seats reserved for Scheduled Castes. A total of 6.19 crore voters make up the state's electorate. In the 2019 polls, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance swept to victory, winning 38 of the 39 seats. The DMK itself secured 24 seats, contributing significantly to the alliance's overwhelming success.
