Manachanallur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Tiruchirappalli district in the Kaveri Delta region of Tamil Nadu: Manachanallur Taluk Musiri Taluk (Part) Pulivalam, Vengaimandalam, Moovanur, Peramangalam, Kattukulam, Komangalam, Neiveli, Thinnakonam, Ayyampalayam, Evur, Kodunthurai, Sithambur, Amoor, Gunaseelam, Thiruthalaiyur, Thuraiyur pudupatti, Karattampatti, Thinnanur, Manparai, Sukkampatti, Thiruthiamalai, Mangalam, Thulayanatham, Jeyankondam (T.Puthur), Perur, Valavandhi East and Valavandhi (West) villages.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 666 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Manachanallur is: 10°59'29.4"N 78°38'39.5"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S Kathiravan of DMK won in this constituency beating M Paranjothi of AIADMK by a margin of 59618 votes which was 30.47% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Parameswari. M of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Ganesan. S of DMK by a margin of 7522 votes which was 4.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Poonachi. T.P. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Selvaraj. N of DMK by a margin of 19190 votes which was 12.27% of the total votes polled for the seat.
