In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S Rajakumar of INC won in this constituency beating A Palanisamy of PMK by a margin of 2742 votes which was 1.58% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rathakrishnan.V of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anbazhagan.K of DMK by a margin of 4778 votes which was 2.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, R.Arulselvan of DMDK won this seat defeating S.Rajakumar of INC by a margin of 3017 votes which was 2.13% of the total votes polled for the seat.
