Mettuppalayam Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Coimbatore district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Mettuppalayam Taluk Coimbatore North Taluk (Part) Bilichi village. Veerapandi (TP) and Gudalur (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 724 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Mettuppalayam is: 11°15'43.2"N 76°54'56.2"E.

Voter turnout

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 75.14%, while it was 75.52% in 2016, and 81.18% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Selvaraj A K of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Shanmugasundaram T R of DMK by a margin of 2456 votes which was 1.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chinnaraj.O.K of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Surendran. S. of DMK by a margin of 16114 votes which was 7.65% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chinnaraj O K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Arunkumar B of DMK by a margin of 25775 votes which was 15% of the total votes polled for the seat.
