Extent

Nagercoil Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kanniyakumari district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Agastheeswaram Taluk (Part) Nagercoil, Vadiveeswaram, Vadasery, Neendakarai - A, Vambanoor and Neendakarai –B villages. Nagercoil (M), Asaripallam (TP) and Ganapathipuram (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 109 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Nagercoil is: 8°09'55.4"N 77°24'12.6"E.

Voter turnout

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 67.06%, while it was 65.78% in 2016, and 70.19% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Gandhi M R of BJP won in this constituency beating Suresh Rajan N of DMK by a margin of 11669 votes which was 6.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Suresh Rajan N of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Gandhi M.R of BJP by a margin of 20956 votes which was 12.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nanjil Murugesan.A of AIADMK won this seat defeating Mahesh.R of DMK by a margin of 6727 votes which was 4.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
