In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S Thenmozhi of AIADMK won in this constituency beating K Murugavelrajan of DMK by a margin of 27618 votes which was 15.05% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Thangathurai R of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anbazhagan M of DMK by a margin of 14776 votes which was 8.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramasamy.A of PT won this seat defeating Rajangam.K. of INC by a margin of 24714 votes which was 17.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
