In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Shunmugaiah C of DMK won in this constituency beating Mohan P of AIADMK by a margin of 8510 votes which was 4.83% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sundararaj.R of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Dr.Krishnasamy.K of PT by a margin of 493 votes which was 0.31% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr.K.Krishnasamy of PT won this seat defeating S.Raja of DMK by a margin of 25126 votes which was 19.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
