In 2016, Sundararaj.R of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Dr.Krishnasamy.K of PT by a margin of 493 votes which was 0.31% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr.K.Krishnasamy of PT won this seat defeating S.Raja of DMK by a margin of 25126 votes which was 19.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
