In 2016, Natarajan. A of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Krishnamoorthy. S of DMK by a margin of 32174 votes which was 13.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Paramasivam.K.P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Balasubramanian.K of KNMK by a margin of 69776 votes which was 39.44% of the total votes polled for the seat.
