Paramakudi Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Ramanathapuram district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Paramakudi Taluk Kamuthi Taluk (Part) T.Punavasal, Vangarupuram, Perianaikkulam, Achankulam, A.Tharaikkudi, Vallandai, Eluvanur, Koodakkulam, Kakkudi, Nagaratharkurichi, Abiramam, Natham, Maraikkulam and Mandalamanickam villages. Abiramam (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 911 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Paramakudi is: 9°28'54.5"N 78°43'20.3"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Murugesan S of DMK won in this constituency beating Sadhan Prabhakar N of AIADMK by a margin of 13285 votes which was 7.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Muthiah.S.Dr of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Thisaiveeran.U of DMK by a margin of 11389 votes which was 6.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sundararaj.S of AIADMK won this seat defeating Ramprabu.R of INC by a margin of 34606 votes which was 23.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
