In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Annadurai K of DMK won in this constituency beating Rengarajan N R of AIADMK by a margin of 25269 votes which was 14.34% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sekar. V of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Mahendran. K of INC by a margin of 12358 votes which was 7.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N.R.Rengarajan of INC won this seat defeating N.Senthilkumar, of DMDK by a margin of 8779 votes which was 6% of the total votes polled for the seat.
