In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, K S Saravanakumaar of DMK won in this constituency beating M Murugan of AIADMK by a margin of 21321 votes which was 10.7% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kathirkamu.K of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anbazhagan of DMK by a margin of 14350 votes which was 7.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Laser.A of CPIM won this seat defeating Anbazhagan.V of DMK by a margin of 5641 votes which was 3.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
