In 2016, Sekaran.K.V of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Murugan.M of AIADMK by a margin of 8273 votes which was 4.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jayasudha.L of AIADMK won this seat defeating Edirolimanian.G of PMK by a margin of 28545 votes which was 17.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
