In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, E Balasubramaniyan of AIADMK won in this constituency beating A S Saravanan of DMK by a margin of 22609 votes which was 11.41% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sakthivel A B of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Gunasekaran M of DMK by a margin of 30453 votes which was 15.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Selvaraju.M.K. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Sivalingam.S.R. of DMK by a margin of 60215 votes which was 34.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
