In 2016, Udhayasuriyan.T of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Mohan P of AIADMK by a margin of 14528 votes which was 7.15% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Mohan.P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Udhayasuriyan.T of DMK by a margin of 12198 votes which was 7.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
