In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Jayaram K R of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Karthik N of DMK by a margin of 10854 votes which was 5.41% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Karthik, N. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Singai Muthu, N. of AIADMK by a margin of 5180 votes which was 2.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chinnasamy R of AIADMK won this seat defeating Mayura S Jayakumar of INC by a margin of 34326 votes which was 21.6% of the total votes polled for the seat.
