Sivaganga Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Sivaganga district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Sivaganga Taluk Karaikudi Taluk (Part) Kiranippatti, Koothalur, Varivayal, Sethuregunathapattinam, Pilar, Devapattu, Kallal, Sambanur, Aranmanaisiruvayal, Kurudampattu, Sannavanam, Veppankulam, Vilavadiendal, Alampattu, Keelapoongudi, Thiruthipatti, Panangudi, Ilandamangalam, Mummudichanpatti, Malaikandan and Vetriyur villages.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1406 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sivaganga is: 9°52'01.6"N 78°33'07.9"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Pr Senthilnathan of AIADMK won in this constituency beating S Gunasekaran of CPI by a margin of 11253 votes which was 5.6% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Baskaran.G of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Sathianathan.M @ Meppal M.Sakthi of DMK by a margin of 6636 votes which was 3.5% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Gunasekaran.S of CPI won this seat defeating Rajasekaran.V of INC by a margin of 4382 votes which was 2.79% of the total votes polled for the seat.
