Thirumayam Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Pudukkottai district in the Kaveri Delta region of Tamil Nadu: Thirumayam Taluk (Except Palakkuruchi village).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 899 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thirumayam is: 10°17'02.4"N 78°42'19.4"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, S Regupathy of DMK won in this constituency beating P K Vairamuthu of AIADMK by a margin of 1382 votes which was 0.8% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Regupathy S of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Vairamuthu Pk of AIADMK by a margin of 766 votes which was 0.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Vairamuthu. P.K. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Subburam. Rm. of INC by a margin of 31135 votes which was 22.99% of the total votes polled for the seat.
