In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, P Geetha Jeevan of DMK won in this constituency beating Sdr Vijayaseelan of AIADMK by a margin of 50310 votes which was 26.93% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Geetha Jeevan P of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Chellapandian.S.T. of AIADMK by a margin of 20908 votes which was 11.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chellapandian S.T of AIADMK won this seat defeating Geetha Jeevan P of DMK by a margin of 26193 votes which was 16.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
