In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Eswaran E R of DMK won in this constituency beating Saraswathi Pon of AIADMK by a margin of 2862 votes which was 1.56% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Saraswathi Pon of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Elangoavan Bar of DMK by a margin of 3390 votes which was 1.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sampathkumar. P of DMDK won this seat defeating Sundaram. M.R. of INC by a margin of 23945 votes which was 15.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.
