In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Inigo Irudayaraj S of DMK won in this constituency beating Vellamandi Natarajan N of AIADMK by a margin of 53797 votes which was 31.4% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Natarajan .N. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Jerome Arockiaraj .G. of INC by a margin of 21894 votes which was 13.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manoharan R of AIADMK won this seat defeating Anbil Periyasamy of DMK by a margin of 20626 votes which was 13.62% of the total votes polled for the seat.
