In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Manikannan A J of DMK won in this constituency beating Kumaraguru R of AIADMK by a margin of 5256 votes which was 2.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kumaraguru, R. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Vasanthavel, G.R. of DMK by a margin of 4164 votes which was 1.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kumaraguru.R of AIADMK won this seat defeating Mohamedyousuf.M of VCK by a margin of 53508 votes which was 28.01% of the total votes polled for the seat.
