In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Rajamuthu M of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Tharun A K of DMK by a margin of 19895 votes which was 8.95% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Manonmani.P of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Rajendran. A of DMK by a margin of 14481 votes which was 7.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Selvam.S.K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Rajendran.A. of DMK by a margin of 26498 votes which was 14.74% of the total votes polled for the seat.
