Vilavancode Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kanniyakumari district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Vilavancode Taluk (Part) Kilamalai R.F., Mancode, Arumanai, Vellamcode, Edaicode, Palugal, Vilavancode, Pacode, Nattalam and Kunnathoor villages. Kadayal (TP), Arumanai (TP), Edaicode (TP), Palugal (TP), Kaliyakkavilai (TP), Pacode (TP), Kuzhithurai (M), Unnamalaikadai (TP) and Nallur (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 287 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Vilavancode is: 8°25'23.9"N 77°14'34.1"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 66.83%, while it was 66.37% in 2016, and 69.37% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vijayadharani S of INC won in this constituency beating Jayaseelan R of BJP by a margin of 28669 votes which was 17.16% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Vijayadharani S of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dharmaraj C of BJP by a margin of 33143 votes which was 20.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Vijayadharani.S of INC won this seat defeating Leemarose.R of CPIM by a margin of 23789 votes which was 16.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
