Yercaud Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Salem district in the North region of Tamil Nadu: Yercaud Taluk Vazhappadi Taluk Salem Taluk (Part) Udayapatti, Vedapatti, D.Perumalpalayam, Sukkampatti, Thathanur, Mookkanur, Kathiripatti, Achanguttapattipudur, Aramanur, Achanguttaipatti, Kuppanur, Vellaiyampatti, Valasaiyur, Pallipatti, Dasanayakkanpatti, Valaiyakkaranur, Mettupattithathanur, Chinnanur, Tailanur, Athikarapatti, Veeranam, Korathupatti and Karpagam villages. Attur Taluk (Part) Neyyamalai, Tumbal, Malayalapatti, Aruna RF, Chinnakalrayan Hills Therkkunadu, Chinnakalrayan Hills Vadakkunadu, Tumbal, Extension RF and Tumbal RF villages.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1118 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Yercaud is: 11°44'08.5"N 78°19'59.5"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 83.09%, while it was 85.62% in 2016, and 85.42% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, G Chitra of AIADMK won in this constituency beating C Tamilselvan of DMK by a margin of 25955 votes which was 10.95% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chitra.G of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Tamilselvan.C of DMK by a margin of 17394 votes which was 7.82% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Perumal.C of AIADMK won this seat defeating Tamilselvan.C. of DMK by a margin of 37582 votes which was 20.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
