In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Charlakola Laxma Reddy of TRS won in this seat defeating Dr Mallu Ravi of INC by a margin of 45,082 which was 28.09% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 58.95% in 2018 in this seat.
