In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Thanneeru Harish Rao of TRS won in this seat defeating Bhavani Marikanti of TJS by a margin of 1,18,699 which was 71.05% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 78.59% in 2018 in this seat.
