In 2014, Daddan Mishra of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Atiq Ahmad of SP by a margin of 85,913 votes which was 8.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 32.65% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Vinay Kumar Alias Vinnu of INC won this seat beating Rizvan Zaheer of BSP by a margin of 42,029 votes which was 6.94% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 33.29% in the seat.
