In 2014, Rajesh Verma of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Kaiser Jahan of BSP by a margin of 51,027 votes which was 4.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 40.66% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Kaisar Jahan of BSP won this seat beating Mahendra Singh Verma of SP by a margin of 19,632 votes which was 2.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 34.2% in the seat.
