In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chandana Sarkar of TMC won in this constituency beating Swadhin Kumar Sarkar of BJP by a margin of 2471 votes which was 1.19% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Swadhin Kumar Sarkar of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Azizul Haque of INC by a margin of 4497 votes which was 2.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Isha Khan Choudhury of INC won this seat defeating Biswanath Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 5023 votes which was 3.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
