In 2016, Ashim Kumar Majhi of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Panchu Gopal Mondal of CPIM by a margin of 17837 votes which was 8.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Asim Kumar Majhi of TMC won this seat defeating Bhuban Pramanick of CPIM by a margin of 21583 votes which was 11.74% of the total votes polled for the seat.
