In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Tapas Roy of TMC won in this constituency beating Parno Mittra of BJP by a margin of 35147 votes which was 22.26% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Tapas Roy of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sukumar Ghosh of RSP by a margin of 16100 votes which was 10.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Tapas Roy of TMC won this seat defeating Sukumar Ghosh of RSP by a margin of 36828 votes which was 24.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
