In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Raju Chakraborty (Raj) of TMC won in this constituency beating Chandramani Shukla of BJP by a margin of 9222 votes which was 6.3% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Silbhadra Datta of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Debasish Bhowmick of CPIM by a margin of 7319 votes which was 5.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Silbhadra Datta of TMC won this seat defeating Dr. Madhusudan Samanta of CPIM by a margin of 36123 votes which was 27.27% of the total votes polled for the seat.
