In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ratna Chatterjee of TMC won in this constituency beating Payel Sarkar of BJP by a margin of 37428 votes which was 17.09% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sovan Chatterjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Professor Ambikesh Mahapatra of IND by a margin of 24294 votes which was 11.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sovan Chatterjee of TMC won this seat defeating Kumkum Chakraborti of CPIM by a margin of 48173 votes which was 24.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
