In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay of TMC won in this constituency beating Rudranil Ghosh of BJP by a margin of 28719 votes which was 22.83% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Mamata Banerjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Deepa Dasmunshi of INC by a margin of 25301 votes which was 10.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Subrata Bakshi of TMC won this seat defeating Narayan Prasad Jain of CPIM by a margin of 49936 votes which was 21.91% of the total votes polled for the seat.
