This constituency covers an approximate area of 294 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bhagawangola is: 24°17'43.8"N 88°22'23.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 85.46%, while it was 85.98% in 2016, and 90.86% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Idris Ali of TMC won in this constituency beating Md Kamal Hossain of CPIM by a margin of 106008 votes which was 47.62% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Mahasin Ali of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Abu Sufian Sarkar of TMC by a margin of 36305 votes which was 18.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chand Mohammad of SP won this seat defeating Sagir Hossain of TMC by a margin of 13334 votes which was 8.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
