Bolpur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Birbhum district in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Illambazar, 2. Bolpur (M)., 3. Raipur Supur, Ruppur and Sattor GPs of CDB Bolpur Sriniketan.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 354 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bolpur is: 23°40'36.1"N 87°33'21.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 80.54%, while it was 84.89% in 2016, and 87.79% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chandra Nath Sinha of TMC won in this constituency beating Anirban Ganguly of BJP by a margin of 22280 votes which was 9.82% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chandranath Sinha of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Tapan Hore of RSP by a margin of 50027 votes which was 24.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chandra Nath Sinha of TMC won this seat defeating Tapan Hore of RSP by a margin of 16627 votes which was 9.39% of the total votes polled for the seat.
