In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Paresh Ram Das of TMC won in this constituency beating Arnab Roy of BJP by a margin of 35243 votes which was 16.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Shyamal Mondal of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Arnab Roy of INC by a margin of 18726 votes which was 9.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Shyamal Mondal of TMC won this seat defeating Jaydeb Purkait of CPIM by a margin of 19614 votes which was 12.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
