Champdani Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Hooghly district in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Baidyabati (M), 2. Champdani (M), 3. Ward Nos.1 & 2 and 20 to 24 of Sreerampur (M) and 4. Payarapur GP of CDB Sreerampur-Uttarpara

This constituency covers an approximate area of 42 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Champdani is: 22°47'41.3"N 88°20'02.0"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 76.12%, while it was 76.89% in 2016, and 77.31% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Arindam Guin (Bubai) of TMC won in this constituency beating Dilip Singh of BJP by a margin of 30078 votes which was 15.21% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abdul Mannan of INC was the winner in this seat beating Muzaffar Khan of TMC by a margin of 7282 votes which was 3.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Muzaffar Khan of TMC won this seat defeating Jibesh Chakraborty of CPIM by a margin of 36313 votes which was 22.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
