In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Indranil Sen of TMC won in this constituency beating Deepanjan Kumar Guha of BJP by a margin of 31029 votes which was 17.32% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Indranil Sen E of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Gautam Sarkar Son Of Kartick Chandra Sarkar of CPIM by a margin of 2114 votes which was 1.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ashok Kumar Shaw of TMC won this seat defeating Siba Prosad Bandyopadhyay of CPIM by a margin of 43039 votes which was 27.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
