In 2016, Anisur Rahaman of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Soumik Hossain of TMC by a margin of 6890 votes which was 3.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Anisur Rahaman of CPIM won this seat defeating Soumik Hossain of INC by a margin of 3075 votes which was 1.77% of the total votes polled for the seat.
