In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chandrima Bhattacharya of TMC won in this constituency beating Dr Archana Majumdar of BJP by a margin of 28499 votes which was 13.5% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Tanmoy Bhattacharya of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Chandrima Bhattacharya of TMC by a margin of 6549 votes which was 3.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chandrima Bhattacharya of TMC won this seat defeating Rekha Goswami of CPIM by a margin of 19026 votes which was 10.74% of the total votes polled for the seat.
