In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Swarna Kamal Saha of TMC won in this constituency beating Priyanka Tibrewal of BJP by a margin of 58257 votes which was 37.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Swarna Kamal Saha of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Debesh Das of CPIM by a margin of 27988 votes which was 19.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Swarna Kamal Saha of TMC won this seat defeating Debesh Das of CPIM by a margin of 24996 votes which was 18.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
