Falta Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of South 24 Parganas district in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Falta and 2. Bhadura Haridas and Kalatalahat GPs of CDB Diamond Harbour - II

This constituency covers an approximate area of 155 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Falta is: 22°18'26.3"N 88°10'51.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 87.2%, while it was 88.63% in 2016, and 85.65% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sankar Kumar Naskar of TMC won in this constituency beating Bidhan Parui of BJP by a margin of 40774 votes which was 19.72% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Tamonash Ghosh of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Bidhan Parui of CPIM by a margin of 23580 votes which was 12.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Tamonash Ghosh of TMC won this seat defeating Ardhendu Sekhar Bindu of CPIM by a margin of 27671 votes which was 17.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
