Galsi Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Purba Bardhaman district in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Galsi-I, 2. Galsi and Kurkuba GPs of CDB Galsi-II, 3. Kanksa, Trilokchandrapur, Bankati and Bidbehar GPs of CDB Kanksa

This constituency covers an approximate area of 455 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Galsi is: 23°25'36.1"N 87°33'18.7"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 86.42%, while it was 86.56% in 2016, and 89.36% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Nepal Ghorui of TMC won in this constituency beating Bikash Biswas of BJP by a margin of 19262 votes which was 8.74% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Alok Kumar Majhi of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Nandalal Pondit of AIFB by a margin of 10771 votes which was 5.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sunil Kumar Mondal of AIFB won this seat defeating Joydeb Saha of TMC by a margin of 10854 votes which was 5.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
