Gangarampur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Dakshin Dinajpur district in the North Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Gangarampur (M), 2. Belbari-I, Damdama, Gangarampur and Nandanpur GPs of CDB Gangarampur 3. Ajmatpur, Autina, Gurail, Hazratpur, Ramchandrapur and Rampara Chenchra GPs of CDB Tapan.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 357 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Gangarampur is: 25°16'58.1"N 88°30'37.4"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 83.59%, while it was 87.29% in 2016, and 90.34% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Satyendra Nath Ray of BJP won in this constituency beating Goutam Das of TMC by a margin of 4592 votes which was 2.44% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Goutam Das of INC was the winner in this seat beating Satyendra Nath Roy of TMC by a margin of 10733 votes which was 6.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Satyendra Nath Roy of TMC won this seat defeating Nandalal Hazra of CPIM by a margin of 668 votes which was 0.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
