In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Uttara Singha Hazra of TMC won in this constituency beating Madan Ruidas of BJP by a margin of 10572 votes which was 5.16% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ashis Chakraborty (Nanti) of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sorforaj Khan of CPIM by a margin of 61157 votes which was 32.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ghosh Susanta of CPIM won this seat defeating Hema Choubey of INC by a margin of 15070 votes which was 9.15% of the total votes polled for the seat.
