In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chinmoy Deb Barman of BJP won in this constituency beating Basanti Barman of TMC by a margin of 1798 votes which was 0.82% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dipali Biswas of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Sushil Chandra Roy of TMC by a margin of 20602 votes which was 10.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sushil Chandra Ray of INC won this seat defeating Gobinda Mandal of CPIM by a margin of 5584 votes which was 3.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
