In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Alok Kumar Majhi of TMC won in this constituency beating Balaram Bapari of BJP by a margin of 17971 votes which was 8.82% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Samar Hazra of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Ujjal Pramanick of TMC by a margin of 1423 votes which was 0.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ujjal Pramanick of TMC won this seat defeating Samar Hazra of CPIM by a margin of 2543 votes which was 1.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
