In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Vivek Gupta of TMC won in this constituency beating Meena Devi Purohit of BJP by a margin of 12743 votes which was 13.01% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Smita Bakshi of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Rahul(Biswajit)Sinha of BJP by a margin of 6290 votes which was 6.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Smita Bakshi of TMC won this seat defeating Janki Singh of CPIM by a margin of 31509 votes which was 27.78% of the total votes polled for the seat.
