In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Kamalakanta Hansda of BJP won in this constituency beating Swapan Kumar Beltharia of TMC by a margin of 7387 votes which was 3.84% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Swapan Kumar Beltharia of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sudin Kisku of CPIM by a margin of 19578 votes which was 10.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Swapan Kumar Belthariya of TMC won this seat defeating Subhas Chandra Mahata of CPIM by a margin of 3721 votes which was 2.39% of the total votes polled for the seat.
